it had to happen...
Im on an IMV (Infantry Mobility Vehicle AKA bushmaster) drivers course. On friday we went to wreck havoc on the traffic in the northern outskirts of melbourne... 12+t of armoured vehicle getting driven in public traffic for the first time by blokes who are under 20 and some of which have liscenses but only for auto cars.... (which is ok as the bushies are auto)
once more, it had to happen. (the info contained within is unofficial and the drivers version of events only, but the story matches the facts in evidence so far)

One of the guys was trying to negotiate a roundabout, remember this is a guy who has never driven anything bigger than a honda accord, and failed to make it in one go so he reversed up.
when he had pulled back about a lane width the driver of the MCZ pulled into the intersection from the blind spot to the left of the Bushie just as the driver of the IMV hit D, popped the hand brake then nailed the loud pedal. The end result is obvious.
The damage to the Bushmaster.

appologies for not rotating it but this pc has no image editing software so tilt you heads to the right or turn your monitors onto the left side.
see that little white streak on the front of the lower glasis plate?
see the little kink in the supporting frame for the passangers side step?
thats it..
Im on a friends pc ATM, ive got some pics from the shooting day with vids but forgot to grab my camera. We start offroad driving soon and I promise as many pics as I can get into position to take and will pool the shots from as many cam phones as I can..
While Im away I have occasional limited access to the net so if you want to know something about the bushie drop me a line and I'll see what I can provide you. There is a site that has all the nonclass specs on it and I'll post that up as soon as I can, or will mail it to someone who can do it for me..
Watch this space.

Damn, why pick on us in the northern subs of Melb, where half the drivers are of ...ahem...various different national attributes, particularly in regards to their driving skill. Now, I'm NOT being racist here, I'm also a traffic cop in those same suburbs and it just happens to be the demographic, where every third person I speak to pulls out an Indian, Pakistani, something else international permit and happens to be a student. Blknight I know these areas are convenient to Watsonia, Broady and Pucka bases, but can't you bother the politicians, wealthy and semi-celebrities in the leafy Eastern Suburbs? Terrorise those who think X-5's, Cayennes and Ford Exploders, sorry Explorers are proper 4wd's. Noice pics BTW and have you seen the new recruiting posters:
Now I don't know about you, but there were no chicky-babes like that in the Army while I was there. Have things changed?
gotta love some drivers, i got pretty used to morons behind the wheel when i was at UNI, i will never understand why they put a **** load of round abouts in a large town of 60000 plus people and only about 1000 of those know how to use them.
