    G'day BarryJ

To get the rain to soak into the ground go around with spike/starstake or crow bar and drive as many holes into the ground that you can about a metre apart,Make sure that you know where the water, electricity, and drains are first, you need to penetrate the clay layer, I have 14ft of clay 3 to 4ft down, so it fills up like a lake and takes 10/14 days to soak through

    cheers

I wish I could but with my health I will have to bribe the younger ones to do it. Fathers Day might be an option.

    thanks for the idea

Funny how despite a drought after about four days you kind of want the rain to ****-off for a bit. The dog is going mental inside.

Yesterday morning I went into the village to take a load to the tip - the river is up to the floor level of the 2a, as a result of the rain up near Cassilis a week ago.

    Not here.

Tonights news, lower winter falls than last year, today we had hot northerlies and blowing dust.

What looked like being a good year, has petered out it seems. Many worried faces over here, not too many confident of a harvest this year.
