No rain here - and talk that if there is not a lot of rain in the next ten days, there won't be much of a harvest. Considering that a lot of people put in their largest acreage ever to try and make up for six years of drought - there looks as if there will be a lot of distress without the rain!

Isolated showers on Friday is it for us as far as is forecast. Cold and windy (SE) the last couple of days, and forecast to continue as far ahead as is forecast.

Couple of fairly heavy showers overnight, but not a whole lot in it so far. BoM are showing rain through to Sunday at least but fairly small falls.

The BoM briefing at work indicated a chance of above average falls but the La Nina they were expecting has not eventuated. Fire season could be more severe than average for the SW & NW of the state

SA CFS have already warned of worse conditions this year.

4 dry years in a row now, this season just petered right out, bugger all rain for 8 weeks now, the ground is dry as a bone and blowing dust already.

The same here with the CFA in Victoria

No rain here for 7 weeks and decent rain was 3-4 months ago
The crops are starting to bend over as the winds have dried most of the ground moisture out.

    OVER THE RAIN THING!!!!!!
Had to park the grader up at lunchtime yesterday and make myself look busy in the workshop for the rest of the day!!!!!
Today I had to cut the previous 2 days work across again as the rain turned it to POO.
Another big rain for friday(WA),my RDO, which would have been 1.5 hours @ time and a half then the rest of the day @ doubletime.
I LIKE $40 HOUR!!!!!! CANT OPERATE A GRADER IN THE RAIN!!!!

Get your GPS set up, get your gradients right, and start heading east young man. Dig a ditch and drain it over this way mate, we need it.

Farmers are now talking about just walking off the land and letting the banks have it. It's actually that bad here.

"PARIS (Thomson Financial) - The price of milling wheat traded on the Euronext Liffe exchange hit a fresh record high of 300 eur per tonne as reports of a poor harvest in the southern hemisphere fuelled buyers' fears of a shortage.

Wheat has set a series of fresh highs in recent weeks on fears crops from key producers Australia and Argentina have been affected by drought."

Everything still looking green around here - but it is getting very dusty, there is no subsoil moisture, and prospects for a crop are getting thinner every day.
