At the risk of being labelled a dinosaur with terribly conservative taste in music, I have to say that I clearly remember my first vinyl as "The Seekers' Greatest Hits".
It was 1964. Just in case anyone cares, it was a 33 1/3, not 45 or 78 rpm and no, I didn't have to play it on an Edison cylinder phonograph.
I used to play it on a Garrard turntable connected to a valve radio which was rewired so that some of the valves that had been part of the receiver became part of the amplifier. Both were attractively housed in cardboard boxes.
I can't remember my first CD.
Does that mean that short term memory loss is beginning to kick in?
