    Settle down princess.

What I was getting at is IF something goes wrong with it how is he going to have it repaired? It sounds like he would struggle to put fuel in it. So how would he pay to repair anything IF it failed? Selling it broken would incur a greater loss than when all is well. I'm not saying it is a time bomb just that IF something fails it will probably be expensive.

Besides if my memory serves me correctly his Td5 did have a very expensive failure recently (warped head?) and he has alluded to such a failure in his opening post.

Well mine cost me and my aftermarket warranty people a total of approx $13000 in the last 18 months.

And it's not $6k for an engine, that's just for the head!

By Tomorrow his disco should 100%. It will be in a situation new everything that might go wrong to. He has spent big money fixing it up. More than I did when mine went bang.

Once you have the series registered you then have the best off road toy and it should be easy to service and maintain. It's also more up your alley than the disco so think of it as an upgrade.

Sorry Disco owners but a series 3 will live in the mud longer than a D2 without suffering loss of value.

    1. Give up the expensive and physically damaging hobby (I assume it's that which has put you out of work due to injury?) and /or

    2. Take out income protection insurance
    1. It was a car accident than injured me.

    2. Done(

and I am back at work, but 2nd year apprentice wages aren't good with no OT or weekends.
