    $600,000 Gtho

The money you pour into your LR could have been better invested in Found On a Rubbish Dump (FORD) ...... according to an ABC news report

Nice car! $600,000 - maybe out of my budget. (One of our colourful locals once owned one of these since new. He died a few years ago in his nineties. He once had a blue cattle dog tied up in the yard guarding it. Thieves attempted to kill the dog by whacking over the dog's head with iron bar. Dog survived. )

One of these jsut got nicked from a bodyshop in Perth I think it was.
They apparently pushed two Rolls and a Porsche out of the way to get to it.

Maybe I should read posts and attachments before I reply to them

Yeah, it's NUTS!!! A car for that money might take you back and re-live your dreams but you can't drive it, you can't leave it out of sight... I reckon it'd frustrate the crap out of me...not that i'd knock it back. I've still got an ad from '98 with Brocks '79 A9X for $105,000. It couldn't sell for a while and went for just under $100k. Imagine what it would cost now.

Hmmm, there's a S1 in the markets... may be the Geoghegans drove one once..?

At thend of the day, they are just tarted up mass produced family cars of no great technical merit and whose performance is mild by today's standards.

When I was 13 I was offered 1 of 2 XY GTHO's that a farmer in Sheparton had in his shed, only drive to the shops once a week and church on sunday literally for $16000 each.

I thought geeeez no one would ever pay that much no matter how nice the car was, it was 1983.

One of the same cars sold on in 1991 for $60000+ I dont remember the exact figure and I dont know where the other went.

Not that I had $16k when I was 13 but Im still kicking my self now that they are pulling that sort of money.

I also had 3 Morrie minors that we sold for $50 the lot and now they pull $10k and 2 VW beetles, 1960 and 1965 both crushed and I gave away a 1959 Kombi.

    Sometimes I feel bloody stupid.
