Dec 4x4 Australia defender 07 review
Copy of a question I sent to 4x4 Australia
"As a owner of a new 2007 Defender I have been looking forward to your review of the vehicle. I thought it was a fair and balanced assessment of the vehicle. I have a question though. In your picture of the dash the speedo is set up for the UK i.e. it is in MPH as the main format, not KPH as is the Aust format. Is this because Landrover supplied special import vehicles for the test, or was it a photo out of a sales brochure?"

Probably lifted word for word from a UK mag or n/paper review
names and places changed to suit.

I was reading the article on the train yesterday and noticed the mph too but I doubt it was lifted word for word as a couple of the pictures have obvious signs of Australian bushland in them.
I might just say though that I did not think much of the article. I thought it left out some key differences that should of been noted to a reader who was going to purchase this vehicle.

The exterior photos are clearly from the Australian press launch mentioned in this thread Guess what i saw today- 5 brand new defenders
But the interior shots are definitely from LR's stock promotional material. The rear folding seat shot also has full carpet which is not Australian spec.

The article is generally positive which is what lead me to post this thread New Defender 4X4OTY ???
There is also a response to a letter to the editor where they say they will be doing a head-to-head comparison of the LC76 and Defender next month.

Reply from 4X4 Aust
"Kevin, some of the detail shots came from the press kit supplied by LR from the UK launch. The vehicle shots were all from a LR event out the back of Lithgow somewhere.
Hope this clears up the mystery for you.
Cheers,
