That should bolt onto the roof racks OK..Darwin awards here I come!!!!
I found an old engine kicking around in a shed at work. It is currently running on avgas but a conversion to petrol (or diesel?) shouldn't be out of the question ?
I do wonder, however, whether:
1) The standard Rover driveline in my Defender would stand the extra power.
2) Would there be enough space to shoehorn thsi admiteedly large engine into the available orifice ?
3) What transmission adapter would be required.
and also what ratios might suit it best.
The engine I found is below.

I think you will find that it doesn't run on avgas, but on jetfuel. In that case, you might be able to get it running OK on diesel. No need to clear out fuel lines, makes the conversion so much easier...![]()
Langy my Defender is a trayback. That weight in the rear might make the suspension sag a bit which will misalign the headlights. Do you think my King Springs will be up to it or chould I fit a set of polyairs ?
BigJon - good point.

Strap it on the roof, trailer on the back with some 44s of go go juice, point it in the direction you want to go push the button and hang the christ on.
The exhaust may cause issues, and the lack of climate control may result in an uncomfortable rise in cabin temperatures.
You could install a 5 inch lift, install underbody protection and big sidesteps, with these inclusions you may be able to generate enough lift then you can claim you own the first Defender in orbit. Or the first Landrover in the mile high club.
in my opinion i don't think it would be road legal
so save your money
it would go fast though................![]()

Don't think you will need a transmission adaptor.....................in fact you won't need a transmission at all![]()

Wonder if the Fender Diff would handle the sudden increase in power, after all you would do the standing start to about 1000mph in 2 seconds, just imagine the extra boost if you added an after burner, highly recommend the fitting ejector seats
