whatever happened to this? did anything come of it??

Yeah file names / drawing numbers are a hard one here.. unless we have a list with all the drawings on (ie a drawing register) and the files are numbered. cross referencing the list then gives you the drawing number. I always find giving files 'names' gets a bit awkward eventually.
i have a few pre-done borders that can be reworked, and no doubt shared. maybe with the aulro logo on (need incs approval im guessing here) and yes i would suggest that we have the following.
- Revision History including date of last rev
- Date drawn
- original design by (gives credit here)
- drawn by
- full material specs (but can be put on drawing)
good idea to categorise the drawings but can be an issue when sharing designs through models. again a list maybe a better way to do this? As we will / are drawing them then its up to us how we keep the models / drawing files named as this is also another subject.. and yes it really is sounding like work now!![]()
did you say you were on solidworks? i'll probably be using pro-e or inventor.. but data exchange shouldnt be a problem!
Thanks
Steve

There's a RH qtr tank in my V8. I know the fitter had a job getting it in there he told me so, but I'll see if I can get at it enough to measure up.
