See if you can get some NangKang Mudstars I have 33x12.5x15 and they have proven to be a good tyre at $175 each, I'm sure they are available in 16's, Regards Frank.

On my past experience with both Hankooks and BFGs, I found it easy to pay the extra and have BFG MTs on both my registered LRs.

For my money I believe I am getting both many extra ks (maybe double) and less of a puncture history with BFG MTs.

Coopers have a poorer reputation around here and I have no prersonal experience of the Nankangs although there seem to be quite a few around

I had hankook's on my cruiser years ago and they were fantastic . Not your size but a great tyre all the same . If not have a look at some maxxis bighorns . BFG M/T copy .

I've got the Hancooks fitted and they work pretty well. There is a distinct improvement when you air down in the mud too. For the price you can't really go wrong. The only comment I have heard about them is that the tread is too hard when you get more than 1/2 worn.

Go the Goodyear MTRs
Ive even got brand newies for the trailer.
Mine are 235/85x16 all round.
They go real well in the sand,even without airing down.Churned my way thru some real soft sand easily when others had to air down to get off the beach.Impressed me no end.They are NOT a mud terrain,MTR- Maximum Traction Radial.
For sand as you do down your way you will love them,not as good as mt Cooper STs in the mud traction wise,but the taller longer ratio came into the equation real well.
Mine have done around 10000k and look new.Fat baz has done close to 20000k and dont look alot more worn than mine.

we had that size on our 90 in the hankook m/t

We thought they were crap they wore badly
that was on UK roads and offroading in mud mind you
but I reckon the road conditions are alot harsher here

I had hankooks on my 1st disco(32inch) I removed the BFG's to put them on and was more than happy withthem


But you really want these craig

I know I know i have been singing there praises but they are great tyre and cheap too plus there not that noisy on road

Most of it down here is depending on what is available. I was going to try Mickey Thompsons but no one sells them down here, closest is Bunbury.
The Hankooks are the right size and apparently 10 ply, so were a thought.
Never been keen on Wranglers but may see what they are going for.
