Land Rover Owner International, Land Rover Monthly and Landrover Enthusiast. All UK, former two seen in newsagents here, but quicker to get (Though similarly priced) on subscription. No jap crap or bigoted tossers in sight.

Forget all that glossy trash - this site is far more entertaining and intelligent than any of them. The AULROers are the real experts, they do it, not just talk about it.
Also I'd pit an unmodified Defender against any other unmodified 4wd anytime, as long as the tyres were comparable. (I've been doing just that for more than 35 years)
Once my subscription runs out I will not be renewing. Made that decision after their disgraceful 4WDOTY.
I vowed not to renew some time ago and still have a couple of months left on my subscription. I only renewed last time as I was after the freebie first aid kit.
This time the freebie is an ARB snatch strap. My old strap is in good nick, but 5 years old.
A new strap would cost about as much as the subscriptions. I think a years subscription is still worth a few $$ so it's not a bad deal.
But the content really has become crap with the new editor. These are commercial endeavours and advertising and sponsorship is the only way these people make money. But they need to get the balance and integrity right.

I got my LAST copy last week.
Thru subs I got a set of Stauns,Air compressor and 2 sleeping bags.
Lost alot of interset in the mag,it sat around for weeks in its bag towards the end instead of read cover to cover twice within 2 days!!!!
Would only take another sub out if an exceptional offer comes out.All the others were excellent value whilst I enjoyed the mag!!!!
Other tricks like changing the name to action instead of monthly to increase the number of mags a year!!! TOO many adds, shorter stories.WAS ONCE A TOP MAG!!!!

speaking of renewing for the goodies you can get I got a LED light and then one day I saw the same one in Kmart just branded differently for 19 bucks and of course the mag valued it at $65, lolz.

Urm Id put an unmodified defender on the general slippers they provide against a modified toyota surf on mud rubber and a nissn potrool long wheel base with mud rubber and a 2 inch spring lift... And not have to use the traction control or lock the center......
hang on I did... and recovered the surf and played backup for the pootrol when it got tractionally disadvantaged... about november december 06 for the Raafie wind up from altc....
