if you want set and forget paint (assuming you want to spray it on properly) I'll get you some of the stuff that we spray onto the perenties..... you can have any colour thats part of thecamo pattern and you have to find a spray mob thats willing to handle the stuff.... If the tabacco industry knew about this stuff they'd be kicking up a hell of a ruckas, it makes smoking look positively healthy.

Ditto here ...... I refused all these extras but they were persistent .... must be a good commission in it for them.
...if you really need any of these get it done later for cheaper.

I use to sell it at one of the dealers i sold cars for... Its a load of crap...

Its a great way to make a profit for new cars dealers who have little profit left in the car they are selling. In most cases we made more out of selling the protection then we did selling the car..

Yes they can be very peristant but I can be very......errr.. direct.

I have found over my new car buying life (now finished with retirement) that the best way by far to protect the paint is to use wax. Frequent hot waxing will protect the paint and make it relatively easy to clean. I saw no appreciable difference between the paint on the one car I bought the protection for and the others which did not get the treatment. Regular application of wax makes a huge difference, and is extremely cheap at the car wash for the value it gives.

I won't say that paint protection is a con, because it might make a difference for those vehicles which aren't regularly washed and waxed, but in the back of my mind is the thought that all of those extras are just a way of clawing back what was given away in making the sale.

About $30 a bottle and water beads for at least 6 months and up to 12 if regularly garaged. Protect paint well and makes cleaning easy.

If you want any of the extras (paint protection, tinting, rust proofing, data dot etc.) then get them after you have bought the car. You will get it cheaper and won't be paying 25% LCT on it as well.

I did buy the paint protection from her and I think that it is the best thing I did. I bought a black car and I haven't washed it for a month and it is still clean. I bought this new one that has only beem out a few months, but it is am improved version of what the airlines are using apparently. This one is called Fusion paint protection and it treated the inside as well. I can't see the difference on the inside, but she says its there. I'll wait for a spill and see what happens.

I do have to say that the extra money was worth, cause the outside still looks like a just picked it up. She even gave me a free shampoo for the car. I have heard of Crystal Elements, but this is supposed to be better and I think it is!

We'll see how it goes, my wife is happy and that is all that matters!

Just wanted to add onto this one, I often see such negative things about dealership aftermarket products most of them posted a few years back – I had a great experience with the products I brought from the dealership. Living in a sunny area the last Rover I owned had to be waxed and polished regally – even after applying one of those stupid 'self apply' products. Since having the paint protection I brought at the dealership I have never had the need to wax or polish my car and it still looks great. The product I got sold used NanoTechnology – apparently that’s the key ingredient! Would def recommend it.
