Of course as discussed in the section of this book that deals with 9/11 this is thought to be the attack on the twin towers. In yet another quatrain he predicts that this war will last seven and twenty years (just in case you were wondering how long it will ever take for U.S. troops to withdraw from Iraq!

The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
Fire approaches the great new city.

In this phrase, Nostradamus refers to a great city in the new world of America near forty-five degrees latitude. Experts agree this could only be New York.

By fire he will destroy their city,
A cold and cruel heart,
Blood will pour,
Mercy to none.

Although the prophet of doom seems very gloomy he does predict that the war will be ended by an alliance between America and a country from the North Pole (possibly Russia or Canada).

When those of the Northern Pole are united,
In the East will be great fear and dread…
One day the two great leaders will be friends;
Their great powers will be seen to grow.
The New Land will be at the height of its power:
To the man of blood the number is reported.

Even skeptics pay careful attention to Nostradamus’ predictions of the three anti-Christs. If Nostradamus truly predicted Napoleon and Hitler we should take heed of his words about a future antichrist. Lombardy is in Italy and the Lands of the West possibly refers to the New World. This quatrain seems to suggest that the earthquakes will occur in these places. According to astrologers the next time that Mercury will be in Sagittarius and Saturn in a “fading” position will be on November 25, 2015; then on November 23, 2016; and again on December 7, 2044 <snip>

On the surface you could probably heap all the blame on BUSH and Co for the cost of oil at the moment. I'll admit that it has caused some instability in the region which in turn would have no doubt placed upward pressue on oil prices.

Whether or not Iraq should have been invaded or not is irrelevant now, I don't really want to start a war (excuse the pun) of words on that issue. I did read the other day that Iraq have now exceeded thier 2003 oil output prior to the invasion. It has not and probably will not have any influence on oil prices.

Iran is the next main issue, they are unstable and I'm not sure if i am comfortable with likes of that Mahmoud AHMADINEJAD having access to nuclear weapons. Why on earth did whoever made this damn planet put all that oil in countries that are run by fanatics, dictators and despots.

Anyway, the other day when camping with a couple of my mates and my brother (who is ten times smarter than me) he reckons that if OBAMA wins the US election then that would probably force Isreal to attack Iran. He also siad that in MCCAIN won the US election then the US will probably attack Iran.

Either way I reckon we will be paying a lot more at the bowser ....

Did I mention that the 4 big oil companies are currently making something ridiculous like 160 million bucks an hour in profit .... that's insane. I heard some oil exploration dude on the radio the other day, he reckons that it costs about 7 or 8 bucks a barrell for the oil to get out of the ground. Some buggar is making huge bucks whilst us mugs pay through the nose .....

My rant is over ......

USA like all major military powers will have developed war plans for invasion of every country in the world over the last 50 years, its simply a mental game to see if we wanted to do this what would we need and what the odds are of winning and losing and then look at what they got in the weapons and equipment department.

USA won't invade Iran

USA or Israel may bomb Iranian nuclear plants and facilities sometime in next 2 years

As for Nostrarus Darmus, he must have been eating some good magic mushrooms at teh time as his predictions can mean anything at all to anyone who wants to believe in conspiracy theories.

No

I chase stories, some are interesting, some are cr*p.
Most are entertaining.

I find the reaction from different people, interesting.
I guess it has something to do with a "psych" course I did many years ago

I am very worried about "Bush".
The sooner the black guy gets in, the better for the democratic countries and the relationship with the "Middle East" alias, anti-christ/Muslims, etc.

Iran IS also a problem.

IIRC didn't US Congress approve $650M (approx) after 9/11 for the war on terror?

$400M sounds like more than a research budget.

Hmm also like to see how you could spend $400M and keep it a secret.
