Keep it standard and improve your driving skills...
I'm sorry if it comes over as a bit harsh but IMO too many people stick a 2" lift on a car without even thinking about why they're doing it. Sure, you can get bigger tyres underneath and increase the clearance but it then means that the ruts just start to get deeper & deeper.

So... Stick with what you've got & wait until you're ready to fit the other bits before you change the springs.

why dont you consider something like an Ironman set up ive witness them copping a flogging if your on a budget, I know I am, but $2500 grand will get you a 2 inch lift bar and winch
heck we all cant be like those who buy a D3 or brand new fender and never go off road and stick to web wheeling![]()
Absolutely but where does it stop... (Other than in the rut)
...but let's face it, you're probably improving your driving skills more than someone with a 2" lift who just cruises straight through it.
TBH - It's one of the things I like about going out in Freelander as it does make you think about what you're doing loads more than when in the other cars.

maybe, although i didnt even see the stump that i hit my guard on as it was on the crest of a hill and if i had a 2 inch lift i would have cleared it!!
...and hit your diff with it instead?
no it was just as you roll over the top of the hill and as the rear wheels came up the rest of the car cleared it easy, and the steering guard being the lowest point on the front of my disco copped a hit (which is good as it did its job and nothing else got damaged) but if i had a lift (my disco is stock except for mtr's) i would have rolled over it easily, the other ppl i was with on the day all missed it (they have lifted theirs)
