    Suspension advice needed

    Howdy troops,

I am saving up for a 2 in OME lift kit for my D1. I have got the gear picked out and just waiting for funds to accumulate prior to purchase. I also plan on putting a bar and winch on, however, this might not take place for another 3 years or so.

What i would like to know is should i opt for the springs that will take the weight of the bar and winch now or put in a softer set and then replace them with heavier springs when the bar and stuff come along. Not forgetting that the attachments may be a way off yet.

Will it be to much of a harsh ride without the extra weight or will it be ok ..... What would you lot do ??????

Yes it will be a very harsh ride, especially with OME shocks, one of the worst on the planet.
    Keep shopping to avoid disappointment.

Some wont agree But I think you should set your disco up how you want it then weigh it in full dress with pasengers and gear. Get the springs that suit then set shocks up for springs. This is how I do them. If you get it wrong it will be useless off road and ride awfull. If done right will ride like a limo and have good articulation off road.

I'm in the process of doing up my 98 Discovery so far I have put 2" Dobinson springs and mud tyres. I bought the springs from Shane at Suspension Stuff. They ride great. I would suggest to ask around a bit more before setting your mind on something. Good luck with making your choice!!!

Hucksta ..... Maaaaate . Go with whatever brand you want to run . Each person has an opinion on every brand out there . I have Ironman 2 inch lift and love it but a lot of people hate it ..... so each to there own really . Just get the best kit you can afford and you will be more than happy with it . Good Luck .

Put up with the crap suspension for a bit longer, fix the car first then weigh it and sort it once Don't buy some one else's stuff up If seen soooooo many done wrong Trust me. I use cattle scales to do it Can even get a leafer to ride well.
