Well, I think I have found the place where the most devout Maputo Landy maniac stores all his bits and pieces. It is in a yard heading north out of town.
Went there today with the purpose and intent of photographing the place. Had a chat with the Guardo (Guard), showed him evidence of my bent, by showing him photos of my Landy on my phone. Once he'd seen that, he understood the need, had a giggle and then let me in to take the photos.
OK....now who has seen a bigger collection of Landy remnants in one place? Photos please!!
The guardo was not able to inform me what the intent is, of the owner of the yard. Cannot but believe, that he is a Landy tragic, and has some intent to be re-building some. Will try to find out who he is.

I don't know about numbers but here is a place in the dryest state in the dryest continent .... and there were more that I didn't photograph (so maybe it doesn't count) .....
no coil springs here !
look closely along that back fence - the other side of the paddock is similar (no pic unfortunately)

Anyway, BBC, that's good to see you've found your local Landie lunatic - there's one anywhere you go - and no doubt your unfulfilled need for a rebuild project led you there.

Had to take a photo of this the other day...before I overtook it...and the overtaking was because the wheels on the trailer were so 'bent' and wobbling. Did not want to be behind when it failed!! As so often happens...
No photos taken, but 2 days ago, I saw a small dump truck, absolutely loaded with concrete blocks do a bit of a swerve, to avoid a pothole. The load was stacked about 2 blocks higher than the side rail of the truck and, other than the two labourers sitting on the load, there had been no attempt to bind the load into the truck, in any way...guess what happened?
Yes...a whole row concrete blocks tipped over, fell off the track and smashed onto the road.
I was trying to imagine if there had been a car in the way...not pretty.
There is always something to challenge your imagination over here.

I'm still upset about how many of the series rovers over there have dished deluxe bonnets..... As for the collection, around the time I joined AULRO a long time friend passed away and the wrecking yard/parts cache he had was sold off..... was a significant enough collection that it ended up mentioned here on AULRO!

Have a look at this shot.
I drove up behind this chapa (pronounced sharpa) the other day, it was doing more than 80km/hr, to see people hanging off the side. A bit hard to see in the photo, but there were actually three people out the door, hanging onto the side:
and....the next town was 30km away. What will people do?...things we can find hard to imagine.
