as for our best local drivers i would put Jim Richards , Mark Skaife , Peter Brock up there . I'm sure theres others but can't think of them right now .
Now surely thats a one eyed holden opinion there Mick. How about Dick Johnson,Marcus Ambrose,Allan Moffat and many others i rate Gentleman Jim above both the others(i have forgiven the pack of a#%&oles comment.I was there)First off he never kicked his team mates out of the second car after he crashed his.He has one 7 bathursts in his car and one from last place(I was there again). He doesn't offer excuses when he does crash(unlike Skaife who blames everyone but himself). His talent has rubbed off on his son who may win more bathurst than the old man.Just my opinion but as far as i know i have never had a bad opinion.;):p:p
Oh please :p . Dick johnson was the biggest whinger of the lot ....... and skaife has more round wins than any other driver since the whole thing started . And Allen Moffat is not even an aussie so there :tease:. and Ambrose wasn't around long enough to be made a great driver altho he did win alot . and all this coming from a one eye ford supporter :o . Craig lowndes would be up there with the greats and forgot larry perkins . the unluckiest driver would have to be Glenn Seton .
Larry Perkins now you are talking wingers he would be the biggest winger along with Skaife(didnt he get bthe horse flu at one stage)Moffat is an honourary australian no matter what anyone says:D:D.Lowndes i do apologise for leaving out he is the best of the bunch for sure.I think Ambrose is a great driver unlike the kelly bro's or Murf.Tander is the luckiest guy out there the powers to be love him.;)
AND ALL HOLDENS SUCK:D:D:D
:lol2:
Jim was an extremely flexible drive and has a huge reputation for it as everybody knows, and also a very cool driver despite his Bathurst outrage... mind you.... :D
Skaife I think is good also, and Brocky I think was an excellent old school driver that also shone not only because of his skills, but also his mechanical empathy, something that was probably not as relevant as we got into the 90's and cars were better engineered. Dick, I didn't rate at all from what I saw and his whinging doesnt help, though Bowe his team mate I thought was a good driver, especially for an old fart and very calculating. Marcus I think is definately a goer amongst the new breed and has been historically fast through the feeder classes. Speaking of the last to first comments, who could forget the win of Larry Perkins and Russhole, losing a tyre valve at the front, finding last position and working through the day to take the win again. Speaking of Steven Richards though, I think he will be a chip off the old block too, I recall watching him in FF and he did well, but I think where he came of age was in his time OS while competing in the BTCC and he came back a very different driver IMHO and definately for the better.
bathurst wins ..... Murph 5 - Ambrose 0 .... I rest my case :o:p:D
But at the same time murph is a kiwi.
Damn you slunnie i'm trying to get the upper hand here :D:p:D.
To be honest i'm looking forward to seeing Chad Reed have a crack in a supercar ..... in a test driver with in a few hours he was on the pace .... cant wait for it .
EDIT : here we go heres a shot of having the upper hand ..... you get remembered for your bathurst wins more so than your championship wins ..... ok i think that sounds good :)
