    MIG/TIG Welding Courses @ TAFE

    Hi all;
I've been wanting to do a Welding Course for a while ,so Last night I finally enrolled in MIG Welding.
First Night the instructor shows me how to set
up the MIG Welder Wire speed, current etc.
then I started practicing on Scrap metal..

There is a few projects along the way.
Mig Welding is easier than I thought ,
oh ....& ..I wasn't carrying any safety gear with me either,

But Store Had some Safety gear i could borrow for the 1st night ,
"Welding gloves" , "overalls " , Welding helmet, etc
I'm going back again tonite to Enrol in TIG Welding ,

Both courses are statement of attainment courses.

    That's great, good for you.

I had too much trouble finding a TAFE that still offered the course and trying to juggle work and home duties in with the schedule. My welding skills are getting better but you can't beat experienced trade instruction.

    Good luck with it

    Tungsten Arc Welding ( GTAW ) : 17436

    ----

P.S I know what you mean about the end caps..

when the RHS end cap came off on mine , and I didn't even know It had until we got to Bathurst Bay up at Cape York & someone pointed out that it was missing , didn't bother replacing it , I just kept driving around for a very long time till i saved up enought $$$ and got the kaymar rear bar...

Lou it might not be too late to enrol this semester , check out the availability and Dates of enrolment for Welding at TAFE nearest to you https://www.tafensw.edu.au/

Just got transferred 10,000 times through various people of various nationalities with various grasps of the english language, before I got put onto a blokey sounding bloke who was most helpful.

I start my welding course tomorrow night at Granville!

I was told Meadowbank was not on the list but the same person also told me that the course was 1 year full time. :O lol!
