Frenchman Line????? It's Frenchmans Track. A little thing I know, but it helps people who are reading these posts to know where you are talking about. And it was an interesting run when we did it in 1994.

Shame about the rubbish. It shouldn't be, but it's a fact of life these days and I am beginning to think that it is not a minority anymore who don't care.

The "French Line" is in the Simpson.

Oooops, sorry Numpty. My geographical knowledge of Aus is improving.

Frenchman Line is in the Simpson, Frenchmans Track is in Cape York.

Will write it out 100 times so I don't forget!

Brendan, Just did some what of the same trip. Sorry I didn't contact you. One of our vehicles overheated(Paj) and we detoured to Townsville. Only 4 out of 7 did the Cape trip. I was the only LR. We did Creb and camped at Roaring Meg falls and while the girls went to the 'womens secret falls' we did the Zigzag track. I remember the log bridge in your photo. I almost got stuck in Nolan Creek but was able to reverse out and get through about 3 metres to the right. Others got stuck and water damage. Where was it that you towed the other vehicle out? Must agree about the rubbish and excrement at camp sites, very disappointing, don't let the greenies see that or they'll want to ban all 4wd's. We did the Old Telegraph line all the way up. regards garry

I will put my hand up also for wrong wording. Seems that here we call things by another name to avoid the masses following that it becomes a "what I mean not what I have said about the route!!"
French east of Batavia not surveyed Ok

Kinda funny that so many people come from all parts of Australia to throw rubbish around and leave un-covered cr@p in FNQ!.

Don't let me catch them in the act, I have no problems getting the pointy end of my boot rather dirty!.

    Great photo's.
    Glad you had fun.
Rubbish is an issue everywhere. I often end up leaving places with a few bags of other peoples rubbish.

I normally try to pick up a few extra pieces of rubbish when I am on a campsite. My reasoning is two fold. It negates any of my rubbish that I have missed/been blown away also if EVERYONE picked up some then the place would be self sustaining as far as rubbish goes.

I was brought up to leave a place in the same condition OR BETTER then I found it.

It did tend to mar what was overall a good trip.

    regards
