Thread: Career Advice

I'm probably not going to like the advice I get but here goes!

Ok I need some help, I got a bit dropped in the situation i'm in currently. I've been out of work for a month and a half.

I'm looking to move my career up a notch, get out from under houses and move into something more "Technical", such as an engineering role. I currently have an "L" class and 8 Years experience in the trade, some minor project management, great computer skills, and thrive on technical stuff. Buy the end of November I will have an A-grade electrical license. I would then like to move into Automation (PLC's etc), but I need work now as I have no money.

I've been looking on all the job sites, and finding it hard to "translate" Why can't they just say what they want!

What positions I would be experienced enough in, bearing in mind i'm trying to get slightly off the tools. Any suggestions?
