We own a German Short Haired Pointer and a Ragdoll cat. Neither require any more grooming than the other. Great thing about the Ragdoll is their fur won't mat - just wish it wouldn't shed

That said we did own a Cocker for many years and I have to say that there comes a time where you need to swap grooming for clipping - seasonal issues when young in the tropics and also as they age it's a lot easier to keep them trimmed.

Did I mention Ragdoll's won't fight either, so if you hold him down he just meows and grumbles and then gives up - no scratches or biting - he's a big wuss.

    How to wash a cat

Lift toilet seat, plce in detergent, shampoo and any other addatives, place cat in toilet bowl and quickly close both lid, sit on lids and flush toilet at least 3 time

SWMBO thinks she has a bit of Ragdoll in her, we saved her from getting put down as a kitten so we don't know her breed, as far as we're aware she's just the run of the mill, ordinary cheap pussy

if the cat doesn't liked to be bathed despite what everyone says dont do it! you WILL come off worse than the cat, and trust me if you get bitten it WILL get infected, cats carry very nasty bacteria in there mouths

my advice to you would be if you cant get her to sit still enough for a clip(which would not suprise me) cut of with sicssors, and groom. failing that take her to the vet for a light sedation and clip, if you were only going to do her belly should not take more than 5 mins

I had the same problem and my veterinarian ordered in a "dematter", which does the job perfectly.

I'll dig it up and check the name on it.

I looked up the dematter, we have been using a small horse comb very similar to this to groom her. It does work to a certain extent but I think clipping will be the only viable option for such an active cat.

I love my pussy but that day she nearly got through out the window.

It looks like clipping may be the only feasible option, any idea how much a SBC is on a cat?

It was quite common for shearers to spray areostart onto a rag and give rams a good sniff before shearing them.Nowdays the rams get an injection perscribed by a vet.Made life easy for everybody concerned, especially the ram,he just lays there and enjoys the attention.
Unsure how much of a sniff a cat can handle, rams are bloody big and it slows them right up.
    May help with the cat.
    GOODLUCK
