I am having an ongoing problem with dreadlocks, natted hair and an unsightly mess between her arms and legs, I've tried brushing them out, she likes that, but when I get to the natted hair she squeals, scratches and moans no end. Not a pretty sight. I like her hairy and don't want a Dr Evil style bald pussy but self grooming hasn't worked and she does like to play outside but this leads to leaves and sticks caught in the knotted hair.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Perhaps you could neaty trim the affected areas. Also, if you blow it while its still wet that will solve most of these problems. Its also a bit of fun for them too.

Seriously we have tried bathing and "blowing" her before. It doesn't make for a happy day, I had claw marks down my back and on my face. Next time I'll have to get some welding gloves I think, and ear plugs. Think of a peed off Edward Scissorhands with an air raid siren.
I love my pussy but that day she nearly got through out the window.
It looks like clipping may be the only feasible option, any idea how much a SBC is on a cat?

Not sure. Simba gets the petmobile which is about $50, which I think wasn't much more than taking her to the doggy groomers. If need be they can give the cat something to slow it down before administering the SBC. So I would assume it would be about this for a pussy wash and clip.

Mate, we've got 4 Pomeranians, the two hairiest ones have fur that touches the ground. youcan only find their heads because their arses are a little hairier. We recently found some people around the corner that do the grooming thing every fortnight for $13.50 a dog.
Believe me, we've tried to pay more, but they won't take it.
Anywho, the point is, the more often you was and brush them and blow dry them, the better they look, and the eisier it is.
I wanted so much to do the double entendre thing, but I know what a problem this is after nearly shaving half the fur off little Zeppie.
