Thread: Door rubber seals for RRC ?

Graeme Cooper's use Disco 1 & 2 seals have never tried myself. What I did do over the weekend was salvage the door seal from a Hybrid 1979/1985/1987 so who knows what the seals were on originally. What I did notice is that my original Phase 2 seals were 1 piece, that started in the top rear corner and ran all the way around the door and was then mitred and adhered to itself in the same location. The one I salvaged was joined in two places at both top corners and I don't think it works as well as the original.

For pinchweld you can try around rubber companies, I know the one at Nowra carries it. Your other option is scotts old auto rubber in their catalogue. The problem with generic pinchweld seal is that it is black and not colour coded to your car.

I'm pretty sure that late classic rangies just used the generic pinchweld seals same as the common holdens and falcons which can be bought by the metre at clark rubber.

I got one quote from a local supplier - $180 per door

Scotts Old rubber have the extrusion for about $12/m.

I'm pretty sure it's this generic extrusion (see pic - from industral rubber supplies), so I'm going to ring around to see if anyone in perth carries it
