mmm, have been reading this with interest. was thinking of doing a PVC or stainless for my range rover classic. I like the way Ron did his but can't figure out the pipe routing atm if I decided to do it, Ron gets a PM

    Told you long stroke...........keep ducking.
Very neat job so far. You may find the rounded 90 degree quite bukly, you could shape the corner to a round, might be a better result.
I think a PVC snorkel will look just as good as a stainless with rubber joins and jubilee clips.
As long as it does the job who cares.
Once it is painted who will know. You could colour code it.

If you can put PVC together, you can put this together, admittedly a little dearer, but a much cooler result, for cost savings, you could use mild steel exhaust pipe and paint it
    Thanks Rovercare

I didn't like the shape of that one either so we bought a more rounded one.

The stainless steel does look very good. My cousin and I picked up a heap of stainless pipe at Maria Jackson's, in a few different diameters in anticipation of a cruiser/disco snorkel building weekend. Thanks for the ideas.

How does one cut the stainless pipe best? Is it necessary to use any adhesives between the joiners and pipe?

    Little update..
Well we assembled it today but the cross section is about an inch to long so we might have to put a dirty great agrucultural join in the middle
    Anyway here are some pics..

A bit of rubber hose around the hole to stop dust, water and vibration

Roughly sitting in position to give you an idea on what it will look like
