I’ve never dealt with Land Rover specialist ever; this was my first so I was a virgin so to speak.

I drove away paying $450 to have the three amigo cleared, Orange ACE light would flash and beep once then it goes away, and it also stayed on a few times till the car was turned off and once restarted it went away also, hand brake light was on full time and the bonnet cable was stuffed

all was cleared nothing was major was done to fix the issue of the 3 amigos other then a relay (which I should be grateful for) the had brake light went away, still have the ACE light flash and beep at me now and again and the bonnet cable fixed so I didn’t drive away thinking I satisfied that’s for sure

I need a diagnostic machine me thinks, my mate has one perhaps I can steel it from time to time

And I thought I was the only one. Everytime I can remember something going wrong and have taken a car to the mechanic it is a total guessing game taking weeks sometimes to even try and alter something.

It makes the simplicity of a series all the more apealing.

Of that $190, how much was the relay?

How much was the knowledge of which relay to change worth? Then see what the same job done at a dealer costs?

What I know, is that as a regular at Graeme Cooper Automotive, I can go in with a minor problem, including problems caused by other workshops (tyre fitter, kinking the poly-air supply line) and they fix the problem, on the spot and at no charge.

Do I need to say it again, I'll keep returning to Graeme Cooper Automotive while the work (or the occasional rectification) and price remains to my satisfaction.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I think Diana has hit the nail on the head

What you all need to do is to find the Land Rover specialist that YOU are comfortable with. Some of you would have no problems with the way these 'butchers' operate yet some would scream 'blue murder' cause the mechanic left an oily print on the diff casing...like me

Once you have found your preferred mechanic, whatever you base your conditions on, you can then build a report with them and only then the goodwill will flow.

Diana has done it with GC and is comfortable with that. Obviously others are still searching for their 'win/win'

What Diana says is very relevant. It is up to us specialist repairers to supply a quality service to the landy owning public. IF anything fails to impress or is 'substandard', then a concientious repairer will do all in his/ her power to rectify the situation to the customers satisfaction. BUT, if the landy owning public doesn't TELL the specialist repairer concerned that they aren't happy, then how are we to know how to improve our service?
All it takes is a phone call or a visit to voice your concerns, and is far better than internet 'flaming' if you are not happy with any outcomes. Remember, MOST of us are here to help, not hinder your enjoyment of Landy ownership

    Each to their own.
we don't all gel with the same people and hence the different opinions.
Good luck to everyone trying to make a go.
Good luck to the new Graeme Cooper and hope the service remains for the people that value it from them.

I have been going to Graeme's workshop from 1987 when it was a one man show in Gladstone Street, Newtown and never had any problems when Graeme's hands were on the tools. Yes there have been problems when it wasn't his hands on the tools but I must say if you bring the problem to his attention he is very willing to rectify it. They have also got me out of trouble when I arrived un-booked even whilst they had a full workshop of other cars.

If that sort of customer care continues, I'll be happy to continue to use them.

I too have been going to Graeme since the Newtown days and have had very good service from his team.

I rolled into the workshop last August at 5.05pm on a Friday with a strange noise coming from underneath the Disco. Ward was closing up the workshop but stopped everything to find out what the problem was. Turned out to be the rear uni's on the front prop shaft ready to give up the ghost. He replaced the front prop shaft and had me back on the road in 30 mins. I bet it was the last thing he wanted to do that late on a Friday as he was closing up but he never complained and just got on with it. That to me is exceptional customer service and the main reason I keep going back.

    Cheers,

    Jack
