My wife complains about my personal emails as well. When she's been overseas and has emailed me, she reckons I answer tersely.

Erich rarely reads emails unless I tell him it's there and he should reply.

Then, when he does reply, the answers are so short and to the point. No 'social' type chit-chat at all

He reckons it's his engineering background that makes him answer in such a direct manner. To me they sound so impersonal!

Must be my journalistic background - he reckons I rant and rave too much - he's probably right.

Maybe I need to take some lessons from Bundalene....I normally rave on too much, Im sure you all would attest to that....

I have a problem at work where if I just be straight top the point the greens keepers just dont take it in and if I go on too much the blank look drives me mad but they have little natural mechanical sympathy and I would love to know how I could get through to them wihtout having to stand there and drill it through to them bit by bit until im sick of talking and thier sick of listening

By the way Ron, what's you wifes email just incase anyone needs to get intouch with you ?

Personally Ron, I think you need a spanked bot - bot, but then again you may enjoy that and delay you from replying to even more email

I received a"your message .... was deleted without being read" email at work today - for a reply I sent to a work-related email on 29 December, 2006.

Someone else is as bad as me.

Got 411 unread emails in Outlook, but most of them are email notifications of things I have subscribed to with RSS feeds. These I read through when I am in the mood and can't think of better things to pass the time.

My sin is not one of not reading emails, more one of not deleting the twaddle when I have glanced at it. Every so often I sort the messages by sender and get shut of the rubbish.

As for chatty-ness, mine to Bren when he is away tend to be full of all manner of trivia, his to me? Best described as functional and to the point, about as well I am used to it or I might think I was in the dog house
