You have a 2nd series D1, usually referred to as a D1 update or similar.

The 300Tdi is 2.5 litres.

yeah well, thing is the p38 is a great 4x4, but when it came to going out for a bit of a play i always was thinking the worse. there was just to many Cons such as, electrics, not able to find acc like bull bars and snorkels and overall the air bag susp. but i mean each to there own i guess.

so what the 95 series 2 d1 engines???

The first series 1 disco's had a 2.5L turbo diesel, known as the 200Tdi. When the updated version came in around 1994 IIRC the engine was slightly reworked as were gearboxes (LT77 changed to R380) etc and the engine is the 300Tdi, still 2.5L

1995 D1 engines were either a 3.9L V8 Petrol or 2.5L 4 cylinder turbodiesel known as 300Tdi. Anything else and it is not original. Post some pics of the engine.

Post a pic of the engine, it should have a 2.5ltr 300tdi 4banger in it
The only 4ltr ever bought out in a rover was the 4ltr v8 found in the disco2
