Simon, that is one very very clean looking engine bay! (Felling a bit of jealousy! )

Re: brass plug, a lot have a plastic one that is very prone to being damaged and stripped. Brass is good!

As what stooge said, regular maintainance and you should find it to be a great engine!

hate to sound sad here, but you either have a steel rear bar on that disco or someone has modified the end caps as they are not the end caps of an updated D1...I know I have knocked off enough of them
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Hey Simon did you sell the rangie or do you still have it. Pm Fusion about any work that needs doing as he has fixed everything on his(well a lot). Good to see you have seen the light and became a black sheep like the rest of us disco owners. Will have to catch up for a trip so we can have a look at your new beast. It looks like you have some muddies on this one(good choice). What type are they.

    g'day,

thanks mate, thats what caught my eye when i saw her. lol i'm new to this deisel engine thing, but i take it the brass plug is a good thing???

i'll have to give her a good once over in a few weeks when i get some funds together. just another question, are the deisel's meant to smoke so much. on start up, when i'm at the traffic light i can see smoke in my side mirrors coming out of the muffler and when i take of. bit worried.

    cheers simon
