When I was driving my 110 on long trips, I found the fuel consumption was only about 10l/100kms if I slowed down to 100kph. I had General Grabber tyres on it and although they nearly killed me, they were really quiet.

It needs a few things done to it (as one might expect of an 85,000Km vehicle), but not that much:
o Missing the winch controller (TJM hand controller for the 9000Lb Premier)
o One of the spotties doesn't work
o Both front headlamps need replacing, as they are "milky" inside the lens
o Drivers door doesn't shut nicely, so needs a new striker plate I think
o Only 1 set of keys

Other than that it is pretty mint! Went very nicely all the way back. The tyres are HORRIBLE though (GoodYear MTRs). Huge tread vibration and LOTS of noise.

Fuel usage was 11.4L/100, which I was a little disappointed in, given that I only had an overnight bag and my swag. Might need to check out the air filter etc...

Here's a picture from this morning waking up somwehere on the Hay plains:
11.4 sounds a bit to high. I mine only goes above 10 if I push it over 110kmh.

I can do 9 if I drive really gently.

I'd be thinking of a mild chip upgrade and a good service.

I've run XZL's on mine with great success they look great IMHO. Although I reckon the XZLs would be just as noisy as the MTRs - I geuss it depends what your plans are.

The rest of your issues are just annoying and easily replaced with a few bucks.

    Congrats,

Fantastic looking rig.... really, fantatstic.... well done. You will be happy for life now..

My disco is the same, soon as you get above 100 up to 110 etc comsumption drops a little.

I put Dynamat in my cabin by the way.

You can buy it in box's from car stereo joints. I put it in as I was doing 100k to work amd 100ks back. I would listen to lectures in the car. Made an enourmous diffenrence at speed.

    Good luck

    Jay

TO be honest I get between 10 and 11 the way I normally drive. I flogged it down to Gippsland last week and got 12 but I have got 9 if I drive gently, dont use BP fuel and sit on 90kmh top speed. (Not much fun in that though).

    Gday mate

That thing looks great, you lucky bugger

I always did like that colour

May I suggest loosening off the door hinge bolts on the firewall, get someone else to lift it up then tighten it up again. When I replaced my hinges this made a difference. If it's not that, or the plate then it's the latch itself and thats not much fun

you can do it by removing the sill utilise a jack with soft wood like pine and gently jack the door up in position that should give you the adjustment needed
