Not much good against a kangaroo...

While we are on this topic, has anyone found any reasonably priced LED indicators that fit the ARB defender bar?

I went to ARB and TJM initially thinking it was one of their bars that LR had fitted... but no it came from somewhere else and the parts cost an arm and a leg.

I mean really...for lights mounted IN a bull bar you should be able to buy replacement plastic bits as every time you bump something you risk cracking/chipping/destroying the lenses!!

Needless to say I resorted to glue/silastic until I totally destroyed the indicator and then I replaced the whole unit.

Australian bullbars are well developed world renowned and I only had the LR one because it came with the new vehicle as part of the "extreme" package...but I guess I ended up getting what I paid for.
I had a similar issue recently, trying to replace a bullbar blinker. I thought it was made by ARB or TJM, as it looked very similar, but their blinkers didn't fit. I ended up getting Narva ones from Ashdown-Ingrams for about $17 each (whole unit, without a bulb). They fit perfectly.

This is a factory bullbar off a 01 Defender Extreme which i have forsale in the markets secction , It has a Landrover logo in the centre section near the drivers side upright i beleive its made by ARB for landrover

I replaced it as im now using a high mount winch which needed a high mount bar

ARB said that all of theirs have an ARB logo/marking somewhere.

Hi. Is it possible to get a side on picture of this Defender (or another one) so that I can see how much the ARB bar sticks out.
I'm giving serious thought in buying a 2.4 Defender and would like to see how much the arb bar decreases the approach angle...

    Cheers Paul

Doesn't take much off the approach angle. The main difference with the Puma is the grill sits a little more forward. Others have successfully mounted Tdi and Td5 bars to them. When I bought mine I'm pretty sure it was actually the ARB Td5 bar.

Countys with AC, TD5 and Puma defenders all have a grille which sits further forward than others. I have a Tdi ARB/LR bullbar on my county. In order to make it fit without extending the mounting brackets, I had to cut the rear off the uprights and change them to completely vertical, rather than angled back towards the vehicle.

A TD5 bar should fit straight on to any vehicle though.

    Thanks for the replies.
Thats looks fine. Modifying the bar is no drama.

    One step closer now.

    Cheers,
    Paul
