That 2nd remote should have been removed from the engine bay on receipt at the dealership. LR have been fitting that remote there for years so I'm sure every dealer would (should) know about it.
When I picked up my 110 in July, I was surprised to get two sets of keys, but only one alarm fob. When I asked the salesman (the sales manager no less) he replied that the Defender only came with one alarm fob, & a second one could be purchased for about $500.Given my previous dealings with LR with my previous Disco, I wasn't surprised however.
I decided to hold off on buying the second one - good thing too.
Today, I was fiddling around under the bonnet as the driving lights fitted by ARB about a month ago weren't working - wiring making an ugly electrical shorting sound when high beam activated (another trip back to them - they can fix the rattling cargo barrier whilst they are at it). Imagine my surprise to find a second alarm key fob cable tied to some wiring under the bonnet.
Did anyone else get the same story when they picked up their Defender??? If so, I hope you didn't spend another $500 on the word of the sales staff.

I have had 2 new defenders and got 2x fobs each time. Sounds like they were fobbing you off.
Scouse is dead on, it's rather stupid that they ziptie it to the loom, ours was missing on del,but the salesman got one in before we collected the truck
It's just laziness saying "they only come with one" as it cost's the dealer nothing.
Yep.
That is exactly where I found my second key-pad![]()

I'm not trying to demean the Sales Manager, but he wouldn't have a clue about where the keys or remotes would be, and as you know, how many there should be. He's a salesman, not a technical guy - the guy checking the vehicle in is the one who's supposed to know what comes with the car & notice when something's missing (like keys/remotes).
