Was there on Sunday, caught up with Taff and watched the afternoon show.
Sure you dont want me to post the vid Jas?????

Have to agree with how disappointing the show was overall. Really wasnt any different to last year and I think the extreme course could have been bigger.
Maybe an AULRO tent next year?? The LROCWA was kind of tucked away in the corner.

Spoke to an older guy there. He kindly asked if I had a LR to which I responded "yes I do.." then mentioned I was an AULRO member...... end of conversation!

Is there that much animosity between the two????

    Cheers

    Andrew.

Hello Andrew the older guy doesn't even have a computer so I dont know what happened there, he does not even know about aulro.
I was there at the tent all day Sunday and it was busy but as you say we were tucked away in a corner. I was not happy about it but we had no choice. Next year, well I dont think we will be there but not my call.
The other clubs were also a bit peeved as we were all juggling to speak to people as we were all too close. There is no anomosity that I am aware of at the moment. Most people come to us but see many elderly people as the the club is been going for 41 years and think that the oldies cant have a good time...but we do, but everyone to their own.

As far as I saw there was only the Luna Defender and Peter's Opposite Lock D3 there representing the brand

For those of you who were disappointed with the direction the Perth 4WD show has taken, the WA 4WD & Offroad Expo show is being held at the Claremont Showgrounds June 2010. I hope to have a stand there and a couple of 'modified' cars.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Land Rover Aus have been quite a disappointment for a few reasons to me.

A mate who was a salesperson for Land Rover in the city has been screwed royally on false promises and incorrect orders thanks to head office. He lost thousands in cancelled sales and was miserable. Having said that, his folks have a sweet D3 as he loves the machines

Even before that, Land Rover Aus royally screwed over the local dealership...they ramped up the franchise costs and made a lot of unrealistic demands at short-notice which I won't go into detail here...I was 15 at the time and absolutely disgusted, so gives you an idea of how bad they treated their representatives. The owner was a family friend who had done absolutely everything for Land Rover, formed his dealership as LR being the #1 marque, and ensure his customers were left 110% satisfied. Many Landy owners boycotted the marque after such a disgrace, and this saw a quick demise in Disco's around here. Prior to that they were every second vehicle you passed! This was the point where I stopped loving Land Rover...but time has healed wounds! :P

The fact that they have neglected to show at some important functions smack of disloyalty to their existing customers, and will serve a negative function to others. Their marketing and customer-service people need some slapping into reality. To not show up to a function like that is inexcuseable, and I totally agree with your compaints.

LR don't display at 4WD shows. They go to the LR Expos and the Motor Shows.

I haven't seen them at a 4WD show in years.

That's great if you have LR Expos Ron - we're not so lucky.

I went to last year's show in Perth and thought it had gone downhill from previous years. This year, I'm on a minesite up north for a couple of months, so didn't get the chance, but probably wouldn't have bothered anyway.

Have already decided that if I do end up replacing the Disco with a new/er LR, it won't be purchased in WA (Albany is a little too far out of the way for me). I'll either wait til I move over to Tassie or buy something else - buggered if I'll give any more money to Barbagallo.
    Cheers .........

    ,

Spoke with Dad today and he bought some stuff at the show , went and picked it up and the saleman was telling him that Barbagallo refused to put a display because of the cost and they didn't believe they would get any sales from it.
If that is true then thats real confidence in the brand.

Be assured They wont be getting another cent out of me either..

    Cheers Ean
