So did a majority of the population of Victoria, and Australia when he was still breathing.
If the Victorian police of the 1870's and 1880's were something to look up to, you need to do some research. They weren't more than drunken, corrupt, immoral mercenaries. They were almost as bad as Victoria's coppers in the 1970's and 1980's

I must be part of the 20% who don't think he was a hero - is that 'cos I don't have any Irish in me?

X2 . If people check out the results of the royal commission about the antics of Victorian Police and others in power around Ned's time many minds would be changed.Don't just believe me check it out.

Ned KELLY was a hero?! MMM I spose those held hostage at Glenrowan thought so, and the families of the Police and others he killed probably thought he was a hero? I'd love to see which 80% were surveyed.. was it in the shallow end of the gene pool?

"Every police officer in the 1870s-1880s was "drunken, corrupt, immoral mercenaries.?" Bit of a long bow to draw maybe?? so none of them at all were good? Not a single one was tea total, or god fearing??

MMM sad isnt it....I 'spose using that logic all carpenters are either jesus christ himself or a mongrel bastard as I had a chippie put in a cupboard 20 years ago and its crooked!...

he was a thief and murderer, maybe he did some nice stuff, but then I heard that Ivan MILAT used to take in lost dogs and look after them...and he isnt at all bad...is he?
