Anyone driven a new FG falcon?

As the the title says, have you?

We got one for work that replaced the 380 we had. Its not a bad car to drive but the steering wheel is to low and with the seat all the way back when i get in my foot gets jammed against the firewall and my knee under the steering wheel. I have to twist at a funny angle to get in.

The steering wheel has adjustment up and down but it doesnt have enough up adjustment.

once you are in its not to bad to drive, the front end is very floaty and makes for comfortable ride but it doesnt like being hooked into bends quikcly.

Im not sure if the higher spec models are better but the base model is hopeless.

Im not looking to start a holden is better than ford thread, i havent driven an omega VE commodore but it would have to be better.

Further more its a dedicated gas model and its more than double the amount of unleaded it would used.

    Had a drive of a G6E turbo.
    NICE.Pedals and steering all adjust.ROCKETSHIP!!!
Thought the base falcoons already bad the pedal adjustments in the BF.

I drove a G6E a while back, very nice car, the turbos have 270KW's.

Im hoping its only the base model and by the sounds of that im right.

The standard model is hopeless. Thing is once you are in its very comfortable.

I should maybe try and get in it without an appointments belt on, i cant see it making much different, the belt doesnt affect my heigh, or the length of my legs LOL

Our local law get the XR6 turbo Candy Cars.
Sound great when they are off up the highway chasing speeding motorists, look good too.

IIRC, the BF drivers seats also have height adjustment.

Try dropping the seat base down, bring the back up a tad, and you should find a comfortable position that also lets you get in the thing.

I am currently looking at a G6E that is being driven by my boss. Delivered in Oct '08, and will have 120k on it next month... (He lives 4 hours from work, and goes home on the weekend)

Mate of mine has a straight gas one for work. Hates it compared to his previous BA petrol powered one. He says it has no torque at all, kicks down to 3rd or even 2nd at the smallest hill.

I drove the G6 when it was released and also found the adjustments for the steering wheel inadequate. I'm sure you could get used to a steering wheel that can't be lifted high enough that it doesnt sit on your legs (yes, with the seat as low as it can go) but it is disappointing in a new model they couldnt get it right. I also find that, like the BA/F, the accelerator pedal is too close to the side of the car.

Ace, Im guessing your tall. Found they are hopeless off road. No clearance, no low range, small wheels and the traction contol, had no effect on the front wheels that did nothing at all. But I liked the turn in on the XR6.

We've got a dedicated gas BA as our 2nd car ande I would have to say that although it's down on poer compared to a petrol one it's only noticable when accellerating hard to merge etc through the gears where you might notice 10% less accelleration Performance when overtaking is maybe 5% less than a petrol one. Considering it costs about 50 % less than a petrol one to run thats a pretty good tradeoff.
As mentioned check the seat height as you can jack it up pretty high. Handling I cant comment on as ours was a cop car and has the xr6 suspension.
