I have never used a GPS but I get lost lots, the Mrs thinks I should get one.

How would this system be for a complete GPS novice?

If is would be suitable for a novice I'd want all the off road stuff I could get would it be hard to set up?

I see that the unit comes with a stylus - do you have to use it or can an Aussie male with ten thumbs reliably use it stylus-free?

The setup can be a little bit of a mind bend as some units require a bit of this way and a bit of that way to get the software to install but once its up its fairly intuitive working in much the same way windows does. If you've never used mapping software before then ozi can take a little bit to wrap your head around but its not impossable.

depends on how you cut your fingernails. I square cut my thumbnails and use the pointy side of one of them.

My little fingers work fine - about the only time it's handy having fingers like a girl

The stylus actually sits in the cradle, but you probably won't need it unless doing more advanced stuff in Ozi.

OK everybody, the plan is to post written instructions this weekend. No hurry I spose, as these things take at least 2 weeks to deliver!

I'm also thinking I'll do a video tutorial, and place it on Youtube, so hopefully you will have no trouble.

The files you'll need, (firmware upgrade, map files, menu/skin files) I'll place online somewhere.

BTW, if anyone in Adelaide wants one, I need a cargo barrier picked up and freighted to me in Brisbane. No hurry or anything, so if anyone can help, I'll pay for the freight and do you a good deal on a GPS for your time
