    Disco4SE,

Look at the Omnitec Hawkeye for the D4 (from Bearmach). I might have a spare one in a month or so - got it over for a demo at the upcoming Perth 4x4 show, but won't need it after that - already got one.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

The user manual can be downloaded from:

Bearmach Limited - The UK's largest Supplier of Land Rover Parts and Accessories

The new unit has extended coverage to most (if not all) of the modules on the car - the older units only covered ECM, EAS and ABS. You get one unlock code with the unit which covers _all_ cars of that model (eg, all D4's, or all D3's etc).

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Hi gghaggis, excuse me for sounding dumb, but is this module mainly for performance enhancing or fixing faults? Also, how would it go with my warranty?

The Hawkeye is a diagnostic tool for reading and clearing fault codes. It can also re-program a few of the car settings and read dynamic data. It does not have any warranty implications.

I have been reading this topic with some interest. You imply that you can remap your ECU with this device, I thought great I have to look into this. I been to Blackbox Solutions web site but cannot find a mention of remapping the ECU. Can you tell me where did you get your setting from, the cost and how effected where they?

The Faultmate MSV2 when used with the Vehicle Explorer software, which comes as part of the unit, through a PC, has a program in it called Performance Flash File Loader, new maps are available through the BBS at the shop http://https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/ and click on accessories you will find the maps on the list with a brief explanation. Cost is shown on the site.

If you order an MSV2 extreme, please check your PC for a RS232 male plug, I didn't and am now waiting for the postman yet again.

    The RS232 is a small 9 pin "D" socket approx 10 by 20mm.
