Just be careful, some don't perform adequately or cause glitches.

If I recollect right I got mine with my Faultmate, that way BBS supply the lead so if anything happens due to the lead.............................

    Nothing bad happened

Looked identical to commercially available leads.

I had a plug-in type performance chip while it might have improved the performance; I noticed that under hard acceleration and acceleration when towing black bellowed from the back of my vehicle.
With the BBS remapping have you notice any increase of exhaust smoke, rise of fuel usage or any cons at all?

Like the LC200 I was behind the other day. Black smoke everywhere.

I wonder if this is a "fuel boost without turbo boost" to spare the
engine an unacceptable increase in cylinder pressure . The LC200 engine's
size really could produce 900 NM , if the design could handle it , which
    I don't think it can.

That is what I thought as the engine is not allowed to produce the full torque until third or fourth gear.
Maybe Toyota have done a new map to stop them failing.
Goes to show how poor and industrial Jap diesels are compared to european ones.

Hpe LR sort the turbo problems though as they seem to be an issue.

My 3.0 blew clouds of white smoke then had little power recently when I pulled out in front of traffic doing 100 kph. I don't know if I lifted off due to no need to accelerate so quickly, as I sometimes do, but the gbox shifted up a few gears and my pushing the accelerator down to try to get some speed up didn't achieve much. At least it eventually recovered without a restart.

    RichardK,

I had a look at the BBS website.
Am I right in saying that you purchased the "Faultmate MSV-2 Single Vehicle System Kit for Discovery 3 / LR3 full capability with EXTREME Vehicle Server" code "SV222" for approx AUD$1500. And also purchased the "Custom TDV6 EMS Flash File" code CM001 approx AUD$600?
Thanks for any detail you could provide...

Yes, that is the kit, bear in mind that the Faultmate will do so much more than load the CM001 performance file.
Great bit of kit for long remote trips although I haven't had to use it yet (touchwood) with both D3's I've had.

According to the shop you will get all that is necessary to run it.

Let me know if I can help with any information although my knowledge is nowhere as good as others
