Front suspension "clunking" sound on any bump and end of warranty health check

I have a 2005 D3 SE Diesel which is about to end its "extended" warranty in a month. I have noticed in the past month that whenever I go over any sort of bump there is a clunk from the front wheels. I suspect it is suspension issue and I would like to get this fixed prior to the warranty exprires (if I can).

Also I would appreciate if there is anything else that I should get the LR people to look at (for) or should I get a third party to examine the car prior to the warranty running out ? If so any recommendations ?

I am in WA and the car has done @ 150K kms. I plan to keep the car for another 6 to 12 months then go to a D4.

    Thanks in advance, Campo

Chances are it's bushes and/or ball joints but most extended warranties don't cover these as they're classed as wear & tear items.

Yes, sounds like ARB bushes - had the same on my 2006 D3.

If your warranty won't pay and you're ditching it in
6 months , then forget it . The Dealer won't be hitting
speed bumps when you trade it ...............

Just resurrecting this thread from the dead...

My 2007 D3 is in at the dealer today, as I had heard some knocking noises from the steering and suspected it was the bushes. They've just rung to confirm this diagnosis and advised that the repair will cost $1600. I mentioned to them that I had an Allianz extended warranty and asked if it would be covered - they weren't sure and went away to think about it.

Has anyone had recent experience with Allianz and bush replacements (either refusing or accepting to pay for the repairs) ?

    thanks
    Geoff

If you are paying $1600 someone saw you coming. If you would like to look at an earlier thread titled D3 ball joint replacement I had the lower ball joints replaced as well as lower hydro bushes and inner tie rods as well as a wheel alignment for around $800 from a Land Rover Dealer

All good. Allianz paid for the bushes and ball joints. The dealer wanted to replace the entire suspension arms (because it was quicker than pushing out the bushes) but Allianz wouldn't cover that. Either way, I didn't pay a cent, so I'm happy. Thanks for the replies.
