No you have good reason to complain considering the price of OEM Satnavs. 
 
Bad news however. There may well be some features you've not found yet but I can say for sure that there is not a OEM system on the the market by any manufacturer which can compete with the features on a $300 portable. 
 
It's not only features which are missing but the routing algorithms are usually atrocious and addresses can't be entered on the move. For reasons of liability OEM satnavs are programmed for the lowest common denominator of driver and I don't think that's likely to change. For anyone with an interest in GPS & driving they just don't cut it. To add insult to injury when you need to upgrade the map DVD it will cost around $300 a time. Do yourself a favour up front and buy a portable for the windscreen.
