Apparently the RR in the wheel centre of a roller is always correct way up even when vehicle is moving.
So tell the missus to go buy a roller
Dave.
Was washing the wheels today, Missus comes out to ask if I wanted a coffee.
While there she asked why the little Land Rover symbols in the center of the wheels were all at different angles? After just looking at her like she had just turned blond I said because they are fixed in place & the tyres had been off at least 3 times so they all end up different.
So she asks, Why don't the just let them turn with a weight in the bottom part? Then every time you stop the would all be the right way up.
After a minute or so I asked, Why? What #%*@# difference does it make?
It would just look better. She says & went off in a huff.
Never did get a cup of coffee.

yer i have seen those its pretty funny story put a smile on my face cheers
I'm more intrigued about the excuse for not bringing the coffee
Now explain to me who had the blond attack.
Your wife had a choice.
Make a ( SUPPOSEDLY ) silly remark.
OR
Make you coffee.
To me it’s a no-brainer!
I hope the reason you mentioned the fact that the wheels had been off was just so that you would not have to give a detailed explanation of why vehicles have differentials. I'm sure you realise it would have been difficult for her to understand that even if you had all the symbols lined up, just driving around the block would be enough to make them become misaligned because of the different paths taken by the wheels on the inside and the outside of the turn.

You guys just don't get it. No matter what they say our fair partners are always right - there's no point in using logic, explaining physics or engineering principles. Just accept what they are saying and nod agreeably or smile and agree to take under advisement their input and all will be well. To do differently is fraught with peril - as I too learned yesterday much to my chagrin.
Gee...I hate being a slow learner..........
Umm - I gotta ask.
What answer do you give if she askes "Do these pants make me look fat?"
As any bloke who has ever given the wrong answer knows - there is only one correct answer...

I would of chased her into the house and said "women coffee!!!"
then as I was being chased out of the house with cups flying at my head I'd say.. "never mind i'll go to maccas for one.."
I do believe she has a point though.
Citroen has a steering wheel now where the centre is still.
No real reason not to engineer a hub where the outside is always facing the right way.
Its a perfectly reasonable thought that is well from outside the box.
Makes us laugh because we know why but for a person just looking at it, its fair I would think.
As for the coffee, there are just no excuses!!!
