    HDC Fault

Just wondering if anyone has had the below mentioned fault, or if someone could point me to the relevant thread.

I was driving along when I got a series of alarms and fault displays.

HDC fault and special programs diabled (or something like that)

Also the follwing warning lights were lit

    DSC and ETC
    Brake Systems
    Suspension

Pretty sure that was it, as all this happened during an approach to a roundabout, so couldn't pay too much attention to it until afterwards.

    Finally the suspension dropped.

I pulled over and switched engine off and waited a few minutes, then restarted. All OK for about 500 metres then the same happened again.

This time I pulled over a switched the ignition on/off 3 times (read somewhere that this was a soft reset).

Back home now, but not convinced I've seen the last of this as the suspension does seem a little slow to raise.....unless I'm imagining it. (I also raised and lowered the vehicle a few times, at home, and ended up with the 'suspension will raise when cooled' warning.

    Any ideas??

    Merry Christmas

Is you steering wheel level when you are driving staight?

I had a similar problem when my steering wheel alignment was out. If you get the dealer to check the computer you'll probably get a Steering Wheel Angle fault.

A wheel alignment sorted out my problem.

Yes, the steering wheel is a little off to the right when driving straight, but I've just driven about 3000 klms with no problems.

Hopefully it is this, as it sounds a nice and easy fix compared to some of the other 'possibles' google has come up with.

Can the wheel alignment be done by a regular garage, or is it a dealer thing?

(Bit new to the Disco 3, so sorry for the basic questions)

    Cheers and Merry Christmas

That sounds exactly like the same thing I had. Get a wheel alignment done and you should fine.

Edit: forgot to add - I've had an alignment done at Southside LR and at a tyre store. Both seemed to work ok.

Yes but they have to know how to do it. Off road height, 4 wheel alignment and I think something has to be set or reset in the carputer.

I thought it was on-road height?

"Tight Tolerence Mode", Locks the suspension so it doesnt move. It locks it just off normal ride height.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the heads up.

Sounds like a dealer job to get it 'bob on'....or can "tight tolerance mode" be accessed by 'Bob Jane' et al.
