Had an awesome drive up in Jenolon State Forest yesterday, driving off road through virgin snow.
Mind you we were stuck in Katoomba for 4 hrs before the Great Western Hwy reopened!

Camped in the snow too! ( Around us not in it)

Research away and get to know your vehicle and keep the permagrin alive!
So I had the car serviced at MLR (Melb City Land Rover) and all is well except for what is a slight knock in the steering but very faint. MLR tell me its a steering rack and another mechanic is telling me its one of the cv joints in the steering column and the knock is under the dash and not in the rack. Further advice to be sorted here as I want the problem sorted under warranty.
I also inquired about the recalls in the link provided by Mungus and MLR tell me there have never been any recalls for my car or chassis no. so there are no outstanding recalls nor have any ever been carried out.
There is a lot to educate myself on with this car but I am loving it and lets just say I wont be bored learning all about it.

Anyone else have steering "knock" issues?

    Hi Childsplay,
This is not really the place to ask these sorts of questions.
Better off searching the normal part of the forum for any other posting on this sort of issue.
Mine had a clunk off road in the steering, it turned out to be the lower steering shaft. This can be replaced by a DIY person following instructions that can be found either in the workshop manual or off the UK D3 site.
    Cheers Rich

No worries Rich. Only new to this forum and familiarising myself with how it all works. I will look through the forum for other people with similar issues.
    Cheers.

Sorry for the previous post - something happened with my images

    But here they are below:

Lakefield (mud turned car into two tone)

Falls Track (Emergency Lift after a Rock Crawl out of a gully )

    Wenlock Crossing (Falls track shortcut)

    Start of the THE TRACK

    Canal Ck (Northern telegraph track)

The Tip (right of excited passengers hand)

Back Home (good as new, almost)

    In Summary:
    - Disco performed brilliantly (managed all obstacles unassisted)
    - Park Brake warning once (reset itself after restart)
    - Couple of issues with tyre sidewalls (no flats and made it home on one set of rubber)
    - Discovered Rock Crawl mode - my "NEW Best Friend" that NEVER let me down

Cant wait till the next adventure

The Austrack was awesome (no I'm not their agent). Took about 5-10mins to setup/pack and kept all the bedding (including extra doonas, sleeping bags and pillows) dust free, dry and out of the car. We slept 3 adults in comfort, although it is able to get upto 4 on the twin double bed arrangement.
Didn't see any crocs near the camping areas, but I sure had a good nights sleep every night, not having to worry about them .
