normally what happends is you do a before dyno run and an after run and plot them on the same graph.

The main problem with doing a direct before/after dyno graph is modern cars have fuzzy logic and learning algorithms which adapt as you drive, so it would be best to do dyno run say after 500km.

Not sure what you mean when you are saying "all circumstances " Are you saying if HP inreased X amount as a % , then the torque will increase the same amount ?
That would be far from truth , as what really happens is there is quite a change to RPM as well which will have a profound effect ( often people say its smoother , but thats because its usually do a lot higher RPMs)
Say we had 3 indentical D4's and stuck them all on the dyno .Guarenteed ,they would be as much as 10% variance , which is made up of a Plus or minus 5% variance .
(somewhere out there are the claimed factory specs !!)
So would chipping them all end up at the same result or would the variance be still maintained ? So the state of the "tune" both before and after the modification can and do change the final result . All the variables say there will ne no set percentage , you will get what you get !

Dyno results can be easily optimised.

Ive developed other cars over the years and often when a modification has been done you get a 10kW gain and you can feel bugger all. Generally if you can feel an increase in power by the seat of your pants you know you have gone forward.

What I was meant was that if you end up with say 15% more power and 20% more torque, it will always be that increase no matter what revs, terrain etc.............if that makes sense
When I had the DP Chip fitted to my LC100, I did 4 runs on the dyno, from setting No.4 to No.7. I found that on setting No.4, my exhaust gas temperatures were at their lowest and the maximum torque came in at lower revs, which is ultimately where you need it most. However I did sacrifice a few KW of power.
    Cheers, Craig

If it sounds too good to be true generally it isn't!
Who want's to be the Guinea Pig.
I've read many a comparison between the 2 types Reflash & Plug-in. It seems that Reflash will always be a more accurate method of tuning.

Ill go you Halves , Rich !, perhaps we can get Dorko to include it in his test with a Steinbauer and Chipit , and because its transferable from vehicle to vehicle we can all share !! (sorta a time share concept !##$#) . As GG haggis has said , maybe some of these newer breed of interupt box things might actually do the job , as long as they stay within the OEM limitations . The Chipit system appears more thoroughly thought out because its suppose to use a Reference from the Map sensor and have built in EGT cut-out , although the TDV6 already has a EGT cut-out system.
Rich , if it "isn't to good to be true "then ergo ,it should be to good to be False !!!! ?? too many dooooble entendrees !!!

Just a question, first time today, I thought i better check the oil level. Havent done it since a service and its a about 2000kms before its due again. That said i have lost 2 bars... is that normal... or would it be chip related....?

Definately "chip" related , its turned your engine into one of them Toyota V8 TTTD jobs , check it hasnt grown another couple of cylinders !!!!!!!!!
PS is a bar like a knob ? How much oil does 1 knob/bar represent ?
