I'd forgotten about the ability to change the D4's settings, so must do that.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

As it turns out when they work out how to use the trip computer and compare it to what everyone here has reported it's pretty consistent.

Can we please stop with the Electronic Nonsense. try this and you will get a factual figure on your consumption.
Fill your tank to the brim with diesel. drive it for a while (day or a week, or take it on a road trip). zero the trip meter (if your speedo is accurate!!)before you go. When you return fill it up again to the brim and take note of the amount of litres put into the tank and how many KM's you have travelled. then it is simple maths. Don't worry about the little label at near the tank that says DO NOT OVERFILL. It's diesel, the only thing to worry about is the foaming of the fuel.

    Litres / distance X 100 = consumption.

    eg; 90l / 950 = 0.0947 X 100 = 9.47l/100km.

    Physical as against imaginary.

just like those cute little BOSE speakers. good sound if you like your music compressed (MP3's?). They cannot replace the laws of physics. just like computers cant guesstimate the consumption of your vehicle.

PS: soory to be frank but too many beers and I hate Electronic gizmo's. Fuel flow doesn't work in aeroplanes either as what is on the guage doesn't really equate to the actual fuel burn.

Odometer, normally accurate even though the speedo is normally optomistic.
