How many days past the expected service date are you ?
At my last service I suspected that the independent didn't have the right equipment to reset the service interval indicator even though they did connect some sort of computer to the OBD2 socket when I was there.
Now of course the service required indicator is up when I start. When it comes on it says Km -1800 which I assume means the service is 1800km overdue. It then switches to to a clockface with 79.
I am not sure what the 79 means - any ideas?
Thanks

I have no idea - the service was done at 48,000km in May - the previous service to that was supposedly done by the selling car yard at about 38,000km on 1 Dec 2010. So time wise the 48,000km is still not due until Dec 2011 (or is it 1 Jun 2011??) either way 79 doesn't tie in.

Maybe a count down....
Careful if it starts heading towards zero

BBS does a "Can Mate SRT" which resets the light / service interval...
Thanks Tombie - thankfully not annoying enough to worry about buying gear just to do this. Just curious what the 79 actually means.
Cheers

It's a countdown in days to the next service. The -1800 will be 1800kms left to the next service, once you pass that it just goes to 000 then 100, 200 etc. Mine does all that only in miles, so starts at -1000.
The 79 means day until servce due, if it goes into minus then days past service due.
The -1000 means kilometeres past service due.
Cheers
Thanks - so mine is referring to two services - indicating it is 1800km past the last service (which ties in with the service on the day that I bought the car - the last time the counter was reset) and has 79 days to go to the next service - now reading 78 days this morning.
Cheers

That's interesting ....... 30 days is the factory start for reminder.
Stop looking at it and it'll all be forgotten .
