Hi all has anyone played with the exhausts on the v6 diesels,
steve
I must be one of them bogans then
I had my "50L Fuel Tank" removed after my mate rolled up with his V8 Range Rover which had had the same muffler removed
It is quite noisy but not offensive, it sounds great in the low gears
I will try and upload a sound / video file so you all can hear

Magna flow make a kit for Disco 3 or LR 3. See the link below.. Not sure what shipping to aus would cost tho! might even be good for an extra HP and Economy!

Hi All,
I removed the centre 'banjo case' muffler about 2 years agao and put in a crossover straight through...and loved it ever since. Small rumble with normal driving, but a great growl when you open it up. The 4.4ltr is a sweet motor (and doesn't leak oil!)
Its a 2005 D3 SE V8. Done 135,000km and not missed a beat.
no stu
unfortunately the 2 exhaust pipes are in the way
cheers mark
hi meggsie
yes your absolutely right the 4.4 V8 is a lovely engine and i find the fuel economy not as bad as some might think on a resent trip from Sydney to Morton Island (qld) towing my camper trailer (Jayco Flemingo) returned figures of 14.9 l/10kms going up and 16.5 coming back and a round trip combined (including on the island. big fuel sucker) of 17.2 l/100kms
Why more people don't buy them is strange they are cheaper than a diesel i picked my 05 HSE V8 up from southern classic land rover in Wollongong For $35000.00 with only 125000 ks a 3 year extended warranty and fixed price servicing for 3 years at $260.00 per service it is in excellent condition has full land rover service history you can't go wrong for the price. and now it sounds great too.
cheers mark
