What bullbars are the US and Africa chaps using?

    Hi all,

Am just about to arrange a D4 ARB bar but it looks like there are non in stock anywhere so have to put a build order in, which could take months.

It got me wondering what do the rest of the world use? I don't think Europe allows them but USA / South America and Africa must have something?

For the D4, ARB or the new Land Rover factory bar(WHICH IS FUGLY)

Other models use the local accessory mobs, like Rovatym, XROC and so on

Surprises me to hear that ARB has none in stock. I had one fitted this week at ARB in Osborne Park (deluxe winch bar) and they had no problem sourcing stock. I just went with the standard black - they did say that there might be an extra couple of weeks wait if I wanted colour coded though.
    Cheers .........

Opposite Lock do a bullbar as well if you don't want to wait, almost the same looking bar, but there are some slight aesthetic and practical improvements with the OL bar.

    ARB Winch bar

I had mine fitted in Toowoomba last week - I ordered in mid Feb and it was colour coded. It took all day to fit as they had not done many before. It looks good and sits low. After driving Toyotas for 20 years and watching it shake and vibrate more and more it is good to see this one does not and it sits lower than the bonnet except where the posts are. The order was actually ready to go about 3 weeks ago but I needed the vehicle and they were very busy doing all the new mine vehicles that come through Toowoomba now.

I am very happy with it and with the way the Workshop looked after me at ARB Toowoomba.

In the US they use whatever they like because if you tell them they can't you'll get shot for infringing on their civil liberties.

In Africa I don't think anyone gives a crap as long as they don't get shot looking at it.

I have just tried to order a non winch ARB bull-bar for my D4 and was told there were non available, so for an extra $200 I am able to get a winch bar delivered and will be fitted when I get home from this hellhole in the next few weeks.
I phoned and sent an email to the Opposite Lock dealer in Newcastle to get a quote for a bullbar and cargo barrier but they have been too lazy to get back to me although they promised to, so I have ordered and paid a deposit for the ARB bull-bar and cargo barrier locally in Coffs Harbour.
The Coffs Harbour 4WD Centre have been prompt and totally professional with regard all queries and email replies and as such they have got my business.
As a side note I have also been shown some Cooper LTZ 255/55/19 tyres which I will be getting before I head north in May. Again Cutlers Tyrepower in Toormina have certainly earned my business simply by following up on any questions I have and giving good advice as well as doing a professional job.

My ARB winch bar came with a blanking plate for where the winch should be.
