    LMAO

I haven't noticed whether or not Garry has a banjo - I suppose he keeps it in the boot...

Where the wood trim along the lower centre console is, that IS part of the centre console & will lift vertically with the entire console, I just grab the edge of the wood trim towards the rear section from the opposite side of the vehicle.
It will unclip a little at a time & you will then notice how it comes apart.
I would recommend using your hands & not tools as they can damage the plastics & wood section & are not repairable.
Unless you have a bone-ing tool, plastic wedge shaped tool to insert between panels when required.

Any more questions feel free to ask,
    At home with the lurgy

    Cheers
Thanks for the tips - followed them today and put the cooler in - was trying to rip out the console top - about to give it a real good reef when I spotted the two screws at the front, when removed the top just came out.

When it all went back in there was a knocking sound from inside the console with the fridge on - so I have to pull the top console off again - the connector to the fridge was touching the fan stopping it turning but then it would slip on fan blade at a time hence the knocking sound - I rerouted the wiring and is all OK now.

The coin tray limits contents to cans but with it removed takes 4x600ml bottles Ok - even takes 4 long neck stubbies - short stubbies are a bit fat for four but 3 should go in ok. I will put in some sealing around the lit to seal it off - not needed with the coin tray in.

With a car temp of 20 degrees and the coin tray in the temp went straight to -6.5 degrees and stayed there. With the fridge turned off - the temp was still -6 degree after an hour so that is not too bad.

My apologies, haven't looked here for a few days so didn't see your message about how to remove the console. I did it by trial and error but luckily like you, realised there are 2 screws holding the centre console in either side of the radio. It's a **** of a thing to get out though and I'd got it down to the component parts to get at the 2 screws holding the cubby box in place. At least 2 of the metal tangs have pinged off behind the dash, never to be seen again but so far it's not rattling or squeaking, so clearly they weren't needed

The lacerations on my arm have only just healed though

Yep - lost at least two as well, never to be seen again (also lost one from the panel under the steering column when installing LLAMS) but no rattling - as sniegy has given the part number I might try and buy a couple tomorrow. However my stealer will not know what I am talking about and will want to send me to Repco - like the last time I wanted some small generic bits.

It seems Sniegy is one in a million. I lost a couple of these two so will be able to show southern land rover tomorrow what the parts are. Always the left one that disappears into the abyss.
Hoping that they can also fix my lower tailgate....totally seized now. Be interested to see if they blame my fridge slide....it's close to the door but does not touch.

I have made up my own box that takes up half of the rear exactly. I have used turn buckles on each side. Two attach to the inner tie downs, and the other two attach to the base of the folded chairs (a very fiddly thing to attach these ones). Eventually I will take the seats out and redesign. Box stores battery, dc to dc charger, extra power outlets and compressor.
    Work in progress.

It will be OK - you have done their work for them by giving me the part number so I will just stand my ground and be firm but civil before I get grumpy and bolshie.
