Not entirly true, as an ex powder coater, the colour range is quite large, and growing all the time.
I haven't done it for over 20 years, but I'm guessing the best way would be to have a basic coat (a close match in powder if they can't do exact) then a proper wet spray coat to match correct car colour would be the way to go. Then chips wouldn't show up quite so bad.

No, WA is outback accesories they do XROX bars, OL bars are still made in Thailand but a different manufacturer. As i said though ARB bars are made there to.I thought they went back to fabricating them in Perth because they weren't happy with the ones they imported?
Baz.
I know someone that works in arb bull bar development, and the D4 bars are made in Oz.....virtually all the front bars are made in Oz. the arb rear wheel carrier (not kaymar) is made in Thailand....and that's the one they charge the most for. Go figure.Originally Posted by Wortho

I beg to differ as I was standing in front of the powder coating at the ARB factory. The powder coating process, preparing bars with black powdercoat for painting. You'll find that ARB don't paint the inside (hidden side) of the bar... there you will see the powder coating undercoat.
Australian ARB bars are made in Kilsyth Victoria and their overseas shipments are made in Thailand by their own ARB factory there. I touched the jig for the D4 Delux bar myself. ALL steel ARB bars are powdercoated.
There's an ECB bar for sale on EBay at the moment

On another forum is a guy(The Low Ranger) he's the fabricator that used to build the OL bar(works elsewhere now) he's of the opinion that they still make the OL bars at Outback Accessories as well as import them from Thialand.

Not disputing that ARB bars are not powder coated black then painted over but they are not powder coated in colour it is paint over powder coat same as the OL bars and TJM bars. The bars are painted at the state warehouse, in NSW that is Moorebank or the store that has sold it can elect to have it painted at a local smash repairers if the wait is to long.I beg to differ as I was standing in front of the powder coating at the ARB factory. Yes i don't doubt for a minute that you touched the jig for the D4 bar, you could touch the jig for every bar they make at Kilsyth, does not mean your bar has been made there (we never told people that we were waiting for the boat to arrive with there bar just that there were production delays)
Nope made in Thailand, we are fitting one today actually, colour coded, LED driving lights, long rang tank, rear wheel carrier ETCOn another forum is a guy(The Low Ranger) he's the fabricator that used to build the OL bar(works elsewhere now) he's of the opinion that they still make the OL bars at Outback Accessories as well as import them from Thialand.

Hi guys, just to clarify, all of our bars are powder coated (solvent sensitive) in either black or Millennium Grey depending on the model. They are then colour coded (paint) using a high quality automotive multipart finishing system if required.
Currently all Disco 3 an 4 bars are manufactured in Australia at our main factory in Kilsyth.
Glad you enjoyed the tour aferrier
Cheers, Sam.
