Thread: D4 long wait time for ARB winch bar

Spoke to the ARB lads today at Sydney's tradies expo and was told that they don't fit bars to HSE D4 models. They said there is a issue with the air dam at the front of the car and they create excessive wind noise. I have the 3.0ltr SE. Dont know what the difference is between an SE and HSE. Can't imagine there is much under the front bonnet.

I see this matter raised elsewhere in the thread and the response. Clearly though the confusion continues. Can an ARB bar be fitted or not?

Yes you can fit and ARB Bar to a D4 3.0 SE as that's what I have. Wind noise excuse is a crock. The HSE has front cameras. Check out the fitting instructions ...

Deluxe winch bar | Products | ARB 4x4 Accessories

It states not suitable for HSE and V8. Take a few minutes and call ARB HQ in Kilsyth VIC ... that's where they're made. With a bit of luck Sam from ARB might chime in on the thread again.

He has! And as Sam stated in post 32 (i think), the website has been updated and now only states 'not suitable for V8'.

Yes, after reading Sam's entry you're correct... ARB just need to update their install docs to reflect the change.

    Hi af,

How is the gap between your bar and the lights. Mine seems to be more on the passenger side. My bar was also fitted at Kilsyth.

    Thanks

    Gup

Now you mention it.. i'd say there's 5mm difference but unsure if that's the fit of the vehicle or the "that looks about level" factor.

Even the guys at ARB have commented that the gap on mine just does not look right - even standing sideways

Thanks for the heads up. I'll forward this info on and get them updated.

    Cheers, Sam.
